Hi, I'm Carter.

Education

Born and raised in Seattle, I graduated from Stanford University in 2017 with a B.A. in political science and a minor in psychology. I immediately returned to Seattle to earn my Master’s in Public Administration at the University of Washington. Now, after six years of higher education at two top-five national institutions, I work with students to open doors into their ideal education.

experience

My dedication to teaching began at Stanford, where I spent four years tutoring undergraduate and graduate students on topics ranging from creative writing to psychology. That dedication to helping students achieve their academic goals translated into graduate school, where I became a writing instructor at the University of Washington. After receiving countless requests for private writing lessons, I launched my own business in 2017 dedicated to providing writing support for high school and college students.

I am also a manager at global PR firm WE Communications, where I advise Microsoft on communications strategies related to affordable housing, education, AI ethics, and Washington State legislative policy. I write communications strategies for national announcements and op-eds for Microsoft President Brad Smith, all of which help me give students real, professional-level support.

bottom line

My professional experience centers on teaching, consulting, and writing, all of which help my students achieve their academic and educational goals. With any luck, I'll get the chance to work with you, too.
